◳ Printscreen pictures (png) → (šířka 450px)In November 2019, the REPARES Fall school on transferable skills was organized online at UCT Prague. The Fall school took three days and the topic discussed were presentation and communication skills, creative publishing, and social media.

The first day started with a brief introduction of the REPARES project, UCT Prague as an organizational institution, and practical information.

The rest of the day was devoted to Presentation and communication skills. The presentations of the participants I was moderated by Lucia Hernandez Leal and two guests from the industry. Martin Srb from PVK and Marek Holba from Asio. The aim of 3min pitches of the participants was to convince potential industry partners to submit a joint grant application. After that, participants got tips and inspiration on how to communicate research results and how to collaborate with non-academic partners, mainly industry.

The second day was devoted to Video Planning and Production. Because we encountered some technical problems during the pre-Fall school trial with sharing videos and showing software tools live, Peter Collman recorded his lecture in advance and the participants watched it via the link. Dana Vejmelkova gave a presentation on her Experience from the first REPARES video creation. During the last session of Day 2 participants were split into 3 groups. Their assignment was to design a video to reach different target groups.

The final day was devoted mainly to social media, however, the beginning of the day started with The presentations of participants (moderated again by Lucia Hernandez Leal with gues from the industry - Karel Plotěný from Asio company. Since some participants chose to present the project without slides by just simply speaking, they could realize how important it is to be clear when not having anything “on the paper”.

◳ Printscreen pictures 3 (png) → (šířka 450px)The rest of the day was devoted to social media. Cristina Gagliano (Wetsus) made the first presentation about how to use the Twitter account called “Every day like in a big scientific conference: The use of Twitter to further your research career”. Next presenter, Lucie Pokorna (UCT) from the REPARES project presented “Social media channels in REPARES” and described which social media REPARES uses and how. The last presenter was Blanka Pilatova (UCT) who gave tips and tricks on self-presenting on social media “How to use social media more efficiently within a project”. Participants also got their last group assignment – they were asked to make a post about antibiotic resistance for social media of their own choice.

The whole REPARES fall school was closed by the main organizer, Dana Vejmelova (UCT), who also created an animation video showing the main parts and moments of the whole three days.
