On December 11, 2020, Roel Meulepas, Pieter de Jong, and Lucia Hernandez Leal from Wetsus, European Center of Excellence for Sustainable Water Technology, gave an online expert visit within the REPARES project. The expert visit was divided into two parts, a lecture “Fostering cooperation with a non-academic sector” for a broader audience and a workshop of the same name for employees at UCT Prague.

The lecture “Fostering cooperation with a non-academic sector” started at 10:00 CET and was given by Roel Meulepas and Pieter de Jong. In total, 37 people registered for the lecture from universities (31 people) as well as companies (6 people). Most of the people were from UCT Prague (22 people), followed by our REPARES partner, UCP (8 people). During the lecture, Roel and Pieter pointed out some important aspects relating to the cooperation with the non-academic partner.

The workshop “Fostering cooperation with a non-academic sector” that followed the lecture was given by Roel Meulepas, Pieter de Jong, and Lucia Hernandez Leal. The workshop was for UCT Prague´s employees only. Eight people from UCT Prague attended the workshop (including a representative of the Exploitation office of UCT Prague). The two-hour program consisted of a general introduction, two break-out sessions, and two general discussions. The main outcome was two general strategies for non-academic sector involvement, one focused on industrial partners, one on public-sector stakeholders.
